Once again, another fab challenge for Michelle Ward's Street Team!
Crusade 20 was "Casting Call" - and so far, so good. These were done very quickly last night. I used a frame of sorts - found while on spring break. I planned on using it in a future mixed media project - but noticed how ornate the design was and decided to see how it would turn out. It worked great. Same with the leaf print. I used toilet paper and a spritzer bottle of water, and a pointy brush. Like I said, this was just a quick and dirty try out - and I didn't even bother to use the powder to insure the casting would not stick. Lucky it didn't. Now I have a feel for the process so I can get a bit more fancy! I love the how it all turned out.

Wowee! Maralena, these are terrific! Thanks for sharing your casting experiments and the process you used - tissue and spray bottle - perfect!
This is neat. Never saw this before. When I looked at the photos it made me wonder if this would be one step in fixing broken frames and mirrors.
Neat stuff.
Re: Michelle Ward said: Thanks Michelle... I was too anxious to go all out the first time around... but will use the full formula in my upcoming attempts.
Re: Artistic Lifestyling said: Thank you Lise! I bet it could work!
They look pretty great for being the test run! Neat-o embellishments!
Re: Lost Luggage said: Thank you. I was very pleased with the outcome. Can't wait to try more.
Were you able to do this without a blender? Great results and with such low-tech tools, no less! Fabulous! -- JeriAnn
Re: The Thinkingwomansaid: Hi and Thank you for stopping by! Yes... I did this by simply laying layer by layer of T.P. down and spritzing lightly with spray bottle of water. I know the original way Michelle Ward explains will be much more sturdy - but I was anxious to see a quick result!
Hey, very cool; glad the toilet paper and spray attempts worked out. The frame's brilliant - it's got real character. Whata good find.

Thanks! Yes, the frame was a lucky find!
Ooh thats clever - love the idea of doing just 'bits' of things - like making architectural elements. That frame is so cool.
Very cool, Maralena! - Nicki
Oh wow!! You've had such a great result and the easy way too! Fabulous! I love that frame - can't wait to see what you do with these castings... off to get the tissue out!!
Re: Clare said: Thank you Clare. I am finding that just bits and corners of ornamental items work well!

Hello Maralena,
i like the results !
I was hesitating to participate in this crusade ( lack of time and fear of trying ?), but when I see your work I think I give it a try !
greetings
Inge ( from Belgium)
I love how you used part of the frame...very creative idea!! I tend to be a bit of an instant-gratification girl myself, so thanks for the alternate technique =)
Re: Wabbit said: Thanks for coming by! I can't wait to see your results!
Re: Jodi Barone said: Thanks Jodi! I appreciate your compliment! I will absolutely keep posting.

Re: Valerie Cramer: Yes sometimes its fun to get the quick and dirty results! That can often inspire you to take it to the limits. Thank you Valerie!
A great variation on the technique -must try this!
These are all so cool! I never thought to do it your way! Rock on!
These have turned out great...my toilet paper/water efforts are drying as we speak...I just hope they turn out as good as yours!
Love the castings off the frame, a very clever idea. Your pink and gold casting is also fab - love the colours and I think it will look so cool as a journal page.
That frame is an excellent find! That's the kind of thing I wanted to use for my casts. Then I realized I didn't actually own anything like it! Thanks for sharing. Your casts look great!
